How to play
1 · Place
Tap an empty square to place the tile shown. Tiles come from a bag of 10 (mostly 2s, some 4s, one 8). You can always see the next 3. Stuck with a bad order? Shuffle reorders the tiles still in the bag: you start with 1 shuffle and earn another each time you finish a bag, up to 2.
2 · Merge
A tile merges when it joins a connected group of 3 or more tiles of the same number, counting the tile you placed. Connections run up, down, left or right; diagonals do not count. Drop it between two singles to join them, or next to a pair to complete it. The whole group collapses into your tile and it doubles. A group of 1 or 2 just sits there: bait for a trap. Big tiles are unstable: at 64 and up, a connected pair is enough to merge, which is how chains keep rolling at the top end.

3 · Chain & score
If the new tile is now part of a connected group of 3+ of its new number, it merges again: a chain. Each merge scores the tile created × its step in the chain: 1st merge ×1, 2nd ×2, 3rd ×3.
2s make a 4 (4 pts) → that 4 makes an 8 (8 × 2 = 16 pts) → that 8 makes a 16 (16 × 3 = 48 pts). One tap: 68 points.
The game ends when the board is full. In Daily, everyone gets the same tiles that day.
